Welcome to OneWord. By downloading or using our app, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using OneWord, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are under 18, you confirm you have parental or guardian permission.

2. Your Account

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
• You may not create an account on behalf of another person without their permission.
• One account per person. Creating multiple accounts to gain unfair game advantages is prohibited.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use automation, bots, or scripts to submit game guesses.
• Attempt to manipulate the leaderboard through exploits or cheating.
• Use offensive, impersonating, or misleading usernames.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract game data or word lists.
• Interfere with other players' experience or harass other users.

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently ban accounts that violate these rules.

4. Subscriptions and In-App Purchases

• Pro subscription: Auto-renews monthly unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date via your Apple ID settings.
• Hint tokens: Consumable purchases. No expiry. Non-refundable except as required by applicable law.
• Tile themes: Permanent cosmetic unlocks tied to your account.
• All purchases are processed by Apple and subject to Apple's payment terms.
• Prices may vary by region and are displayed in your local currency at checkout.

To cancel your subscription: Settings app → Apple ID → Subscriptions → OneWord → Cancel.

5. Intellectual Property

OneWord, its name, logo, design, game mechanics, and word content are owned by Mark Sayer. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes only.

6. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

OneWord is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service or that the app will be error-free. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

7. Termination

You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Delete Account. We may terminate or suspend your account if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your licence to use OneWord ends immediately.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. Continued use of OneWord after changes are posted constitutes acceptance. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes via in-app notification.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
